FTS Financial Planning - FAQ

QUESTION OUR CREDENTIALS
1. Will they understand me? ~ FTS advisers have had a long history of working with professionals, executives and small business owners who are serious about their financial health.
2. Qualifications and experience? ~ FTS advisers (Robert Beutum and Charles Read) are fully qualified, holding the highest professional designation of CFP (Certified Financial Planner) as well as accounting related qualifications.
~ Our advisers are required to regularly update their technical skills and knowledge within a rigorous training and development program.
3. Philosophy?
How do they approach financial planning?
~ We are financial planners, so we plan. We seek to understand where you are now and where you want to be and then build clarity and process around bridging that gap. Investment is an outcome of the planning and not the beginning.
4. Reputation?
Can you obtain independent third party endorsement?
~ Many of our clients would happily discuss their experiences with our advisers.
~ FTS is a Principal Member or the Financial Planning Association of Australia and we are committed to the Financial Planning Association’s Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct.
5. How will they work with me? ~ Our advisers will provide you with your own personalised report. Importantly, we schedule face to face meetings when required we are available when needed.
6. Resources?
Do they have the people, processes and resources to help me achieve my goals?
~ FTS has four advisers who adopt a personalised yet corporatised approach to financial planning. There is also more than one adviser familiar with your situation. We have a documented business and advice model.
7. Fees?
What do they charge and is there value for money?
~ The first meeting with FTS is complimentary. We charge clients on a fee for service basis.
~ All charges are fully explained and disclosed. Our advisers are salaried employees. Fees are quoted in dollar terms before proceeding.
8. Licensed and compliant?
Any problems with compliance from ASIC’s point of view?

Have advisers been banned or disqualified?
~ FTS holds the appropriate Australian Financial Services (“AFS”) License via FTS Financial Services Pty Ltd in order to provide financial services.
~ ASIC has not taken any action against FTS or any adviser of FTS. Our advisers have participated in industry-wide audits conducted by ASIC, where advisers are selected at random and passed with flying colours
9. Ownership?
Who is the financial planning company?
~ FTS was founded in 2005.
~ FTS is a joint venture between its founder Robert Beutum and Tester Porter Services.
10. Insurance?
Do they have professional indemnity insurance?
~ FTS maintains $5 million of professional indemnity cover.
